PBA vice-chairman wants to send referees abroad for training

Two referees have been suspended by the PBA in the first two weeks of Commissioner’s Cup action.

Because of the growing complaints about officiating in the league, PBA vice-chairman Mon Segismundo, who represents Meralco on the Board of Governors, is proposing to send referees overseas for training.

“I think it’s a good idea if we send referees to training and seminars abroad,” he said. “This idea was already discussed to the board.”

Pato Gregorio, who represents Talk ‘N Text on the board, said he was behind Segismundo’s proposal.

“A big yes,” wrote Gregorio in a text message response .
