Maliksi, Pingris fined for complaining over officiating

Marc Pingris of Star. PBA ImagesMANILA – The PBA has penalized Star players Allein Maliksi and Marc Pingris for complaining about the officiating during their 93-86 loss to Barangay Ginebra in Game 4 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals.

Another Hotshot, Jio Jalalon, was also sanctioned for punching Ginebra's Sol Mercado.

PBA commissioner Chito Narvasa confirmed this in a Spin report.

"They've been fined. I've three players from Star, simply because we had a good conversation today. They're are very apologetic about it but it was all explained to me that it was all very nice in the way they explained it," he said.

The PBA has yet to reveal the amount of fines on the players for making “comments detrimental to the league.”
Maliksi earlier apologized for his “cooking” gesture in Game 4.
