Blackwater rookie Mac Belo had only four points against the San Miguel Beermen. Josh Albelda, ABS-CBN SportsMANILA, Philippines – Blackwater rookie Mac Belo struggled in the worst game of his young PBA career last Friday, as he was held to a career-low four points by the San Miguel Beermen in what turned out to be a 93-118 loss for the Elite.

Belo took only five field goals – his lowest so far in the 2016-17 PBA Philippine Cup – and made only one of them. He did have seven rebounds, but also committed four of Blackwater's 22 turnovers, which helped the Beermen score 25 easy points.

"Isa lang ang ibig sabihin nito – kailangan pa namin mag-improve as a team, and individually," Belo said after the loss.

"Mahirap din sa part ko, na binibigyan ako ng iba't ibang defense," he added. "So para sa sarili ko, marami pa akong kailangan i-improve."

It was Blackwater's second consecutive defeat, following a shock Christmas Day loss to Mahindra where they squandered a fourth-quarter lead and lost, 93-97, in overtime.
Belo struggled to explain the loss to the Floodbuster, but said after the defeat to San Miguel that it was a learning experience for him.
