San Mig Coffee's James Yap, Mark Barroca, Marc Pingris and Peter June Simon. Pranz Kaeno Billones, InterAKTVThe resolve of New Talk ’N Text coach Norman Black will be put to another test when it battles San Mig Coffee today in a showdown between unbeaten teams in the PBA Philippine Cup at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo City.

“This will be a big test for us, a big game. San Mig is playing well just like us, but they’ve been under coach Tim (Cone) since last season,” said Black, who won nine PBA championships with San Miguel including a ‘grand slam’ in 1989, and one with the now defunct Sta. Lucia Realty (2001).

“Our team is still adjusting, but we’re improving. We’ll just see,” Black said in his second game as TNT coach.

For the first time in a long while, Cone and Black will face off, and though not much is at stake, still expect them and their respective teams to go all-out when they collide at 8 p.m., right after the 5:45 p.m. game between Globalport and Governors’ Cup champion Rain or Shine presented by Phoenix Fuel.

TNT is sporting a 3-0 record while San Mig (formerly B-Meg) has 2-0 mark.
