ATENEO de Manila University standout Kiefer Ravena was voted as this year’s University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men’s basketball Samsung People’s Choice Most Valuable Player (MVP).

Ravena got the most number of votes in an online poll conducted by the giant electronics company during the Season 75 of the UAAP seniors tournament. The Blue Eagles won their fifth straight championship title a couple of months ago when they beat University of Santo Tomas (UST), 2-0, in their best-of-three series.

Joining Ravena in the Mythical Team are teammates Nico Salva and Greg Slaughter, and Jelo Montecastro of University of the Philippines and Kevin Ferrer of UST.

“I’d like to thank all those people who supported me and my team. It’s really an honor to be named as People’s Choice MVP. I’m looking forward to a great season next year,” said Ravena during the awarding ceremonies held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel on Wednesday.

“We’ll be missing some key players including Nico and Greg but we still have a good core. We just need to work hard to reach our target,” added Ravena, the last season’s Rookie of the Year.
