Blake Griffin to miss rest of postseason with injury to big toe

Blake Griffin is out of the playoffs.The LA Clippers once again will be tasked with winning in the postseason without Blake Griffin.

Less than 12 hours after rallying for a crucial first-round Game 3 victory over the Utah Jazz, the Clippers announced Saturday morning that Griffin will miss the remainder of the postseason because of a toe injury.

Griffin suffered an injury to the plantar plate of his right big toe in the first half Friday and did not return to the game. The five-time All-Star forward will visit a foot and ankle specialist when the Clippers return to Los Angeles.

Griffin left the game with 3:18 remaining in the second quarter after landing awkwardly following a transition layup. He had 11 points, six rebounds and two assists in 18 minutes, and the team said at the time the injury was a bruised toe. X-rays at the arena were negative, but he was re-evaluated after the game....

Paul scores 34, Clippers beat Jazz 111-106 to take 2-1 lead

Chris Paul finished with 32 points and 10 assists as the LA Clippers beat the Jazz in Utah.SALT LAKE CITY -- Chris Paul scored 34 points and the Los Angeles Clippers rallied for a 111-106 victory over the Utah Jazz on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead in the first-round playoff series.

The Jazz led most of the game before Paul took over in the fourth quarter and powered a 15-0 run that gave the Clippers a 103-96 lead with 2:09 remaining. Utah never led again.

The win negated a spectacular night from Gordon Hayward, who scored a career-high 40 points. But Paul simply dominated the fourth quarter, scoring nine straight himself during the run and getting wherever he wanted on the floor. He iced the game with a pair of free throws with 5.3 seconds remaining and finished with seven rebounds and 10 assists....

LA Clippers forward Blake Griffin soars for a dunk.LOS ANGELES -- Blake Griffin is rounding into form just in time to bolster the Los Angeles Clippers in the playoffs.

He scored 32 points -- his third straight game of at least 31 -- and the Clippers led all the way in beating the Dallas Mavericks 112-101 on Wednesday night. Los Angeles moved within a half-game of idle Utah for the No. 4 playoff seed in the West.

LA Clippers point guard Chris Paul.LOS ANGELES -- The Clippers cruised to a comfortable lead, and this time they didn't blow it.

J.J. Redick scored a season-high 31 points and hit seven 3-pointers, helping Los Angeles beat the Washington Wizards 133-124 on Wednesday night.

Redick returned from a sprained right ankle after missing the Clippers' 18-point collapse in a one-point loss to Sacramento last Sunday. His 3-pointers tied a season best....
