Batangas wins SL-B PCCL title

MANILA, Philippines — University of Batangas, champion of North Batangas Open League, outlasted Ateneo de Naga, 81-74, to capture the Southern Luzon-Bicol regional games of the Champions League (PCCL) 2011 National Collegiate Championship in Naga City.

With the win, the UB Brahmans earned a berth in the Sweet 16 that will start on Nov. 19 at The Arena in San Juan.

Amanda Cope College Green Serpents from Tabaco overwhelmed The Lewis College Blazing Fox, 110-84, in the battle for third.

Forty four teams participated in the six accredited “mother leagues” in the region.
