D-League: Big Chill eyes 3rd straight win; CaféFrance vs RnW
MANILA, Philippines — Big Chill eyes a share of the lead against DUB Unlimited while CafeFrance seeks its first win in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Superchargers go for a perfect 3-0 record when they battle DUB Unlimited at 4 p.m. while the Bakers take on RnW Pacific Pipes in the curtain raiser at 2 p.m.
Big Chill will play its first game in 11 days or since downing Pacific Pipes, 70-48, at the Trinity University gym in Quezon City.
In that contest, Raffy Reyes, James Collado and Alex Mallari produced significant numbers as the Supercharges registered their second win.
Should the 'Chargers' come out victorious, they will join idle teams Cebuana Lhuillier and Freego Jeans for the lead.
But coach Arsensio Dysangco and company are wary of the Wheelers, who despite a 0-3 record was able to defeat them during a preseason tune-up.
Meanwhile, the CafeFrance cagers of coach Egay Macaraya will try to barge into the win column when it meets the Steelers.
The Bakers are banking on Mac Montilla, Jeff Viernes, Mike Parala and Lyle Antipuesto in their bid to upset the Steelers, who are seeking to bounce back from a loss to Cebuana Lhuillier on Thursday.
Pacific Pipes, led by Kevin Racal and Jovit dela Cruz, came back from a double-digit deficit by pulling within four points in the homestretch only to see the Gems' Jai Reyes unload two booming threes to suffer a 77-64 setback.
