Struggle continues for Kia Picanto

MANILA, Philippines – Kia Picanto continues to write woeful history in the PBA, as the franchise dropped its 16th consecutive game on Sunday.

A 102-65 rout at the hands of the Alaska Aces marked Kia's 16th straight loss since last season's PBA Commissioner Cup. They are the only winless team in the league this conference at 0-4.

To make matters worse, the Picanto seem to be regressing as the conference goes on: they have lost their past three games by an average of 35.6 points, and they sank to a new low on Sunday when they scored only five points in the third quarter against Alaska.

This, after scoring 11 points in the third quarter of their game against Magnolia last week.

League statistician Fidel Mangonon revealed that Kia's losing streak is now the third longest of all time, and the longest since Ginebra lost 17 straight games in 1995. Their five-point third quarter was the worst by any team since Alaska scored five points as well, but that was in a finals game against San Miguel.
