Paul Lee applauds 'very talented, gifted' Kiefer

MANILA, Philippines – One game after the worst game of his young professional career, NLEX rookie Kiefer Ravena bounced back in a major way.

Against the explosive Magnolia Hotshots, the second overall pick in the 2017 Rookie Draft dropped a career-high 31 points. He did it efficiently, making 12 of his 20 field goals and six of eight free throws. Ravena also added five assists and four steals, and did not commit a single turnover in over 32 minutes.

The Hotshots still got the last laugh, as they downed the Road Warriors, 105-94, for their second straight win in the PBA Philippine Cup.

Yet Ravena's prolific output impressed even his opponents, none more so than Magnolia guard Paul Lee, who went toe-to-toe with the rookie throughout the game.

"Magaling talaga, magaling si Kiefer," said Lee, who was no slouch himself as he fired 21 points on just 13 shots.

"Very promising siya. For sure, malayong-malayo 'yung mararating niya dito sa PBA," added Lee, who sparked Magnolia's breakaway by scoring 13 points in the third quarter alone.
