Match-up with Paul Lee brought out the best in Kiefer

MANILA, Philippines - Despite his best effort, Kiefer Ravena was unable to lead the NLEX Road Warriors to a victory over Magnolia in their PBA Philippine Cup game on Sunday.

Yet the rookie guard was still quite pleased as he proved he can hold his own against one of the best guards in the league.

Ravena engaged in a shootout with Magnolia’s Paul Lee, a former Rookie of the Year and a two-time PBA champion with Rain or Shine. The NLEX guard won the battle, as he dropped a PBA career-high 31 points to Lee’s 21.

Lee, however, won the war as Magnolia came away with a 105-94 triumph, sending NLEX to its second straight defeat.

“This is only the second time ever that I got to play against Paul,” Ravena said, explaining that he got to match up against Lee all the way back in 2010. At the time, he was a member of the RP Youth Team, and Lee was still in University of the East.
