Letran sneaks into fifth spot after brushing off Lyceum

Letran moved closer to the top four of the NCAA Season 93 women’s volleyball tournament after fending off Lyceum in four sets, 28-26, 20-25, 26-24, 25-22, Thursday at Filoil Flying V Centre.

The Lady Knights  improved to 2-2 and tied Jose Rizal University at the fifth spot while the Lady Pirates are in a rough patch with a 1-3 record.

With the sets getting decided by too close of margins, including two that reached extensions, Letran head coach Michael Inoferio said it all boiled down to his team’s will to win.

“They just believed that they could win because their skills are already there,” said Inoferio in Filipino.

Marie Charlmagne Simborio led the Lady Knights with 17 points while Glayssa Torres and Elizza Abitan added 15 and 11 points, respectively.
