Knights Snap Eight Game Losing Skid, Deal Dreamers Ninth Straight Defeat

In a battle between two squads sporting identical eight-game losing streaks, only one squad would finally end their losing ways.

Unfortunately for the home team at the Changhua Stadium, they would not have the opportunity to celebrate on their home floor.

The visiting CLS Knights Indonesia picked up their second win of the season, blowing out the Formosa Dreamers 105-74. It was the first win for the Knights since their opening day win over this same Dreamers squad at Surabaya, Indonesia.

The victory for the Knights came in dominating fashion, as they would lead by as many as 27 points in the second half. A visibly fatigued Dreamers squad playing back to back games were unable to keep up with the well-rested Knights. A bounce back performance after a subpar debut for Knights’ World Import Shane Edwards was also a huge factor, as he scored a team high 24 points along with 15 rebounds to pace the Indonesia-based squad.

The length and shooting of the Knights bothered the Dreamers, as they gave up several free throws in the first quarter because of the presence of Edwards and fellow Import Brian Williams. The Knights shot 11 free throws in the first quarter alone, as the Dreamers entered the penalty situation early. They would go on to shoot 25/37 from the free throw line, a huge disparity compared to 9/16 for the Dreamers

The Knights also got solid contributions from their locals, as Biboy Enguio came off the bench to knock down 4 triples and a total of 16 points. Mario Wuysang also did an excellent job quarterbacking for his squad, notching 15 points and 5 boards.

Wu Sung Wei led the way for the Dreamers, as he had a team-high 22 points and 7 rebounds. Teammate Chen Yu Han added 14 points. World Import Ronnie Aguilar tallied 17 points and 7 rebounds. Import Lenny Daniel had a subpar game, as he only contributed 2 points on 1/9 shooting. Both imports were not on the floor in the final period, as the Dreamers went with an all local lineup to finish the game as Formosa waved the early white flag.

The victory bumps up the Knight’s record to 2-8, in solo 8th place overall. The Dreamers absorb their ninth straight loss of the season, and are at the bottom of the standings with a 1-11 slate.
