Alab scores biggest win of season at expense of Mono Vampire

Clearly, Alab Pilipinas wanted to get back on track in the 2017-2018 Asean Basketball League (ABL) – and not just the key players, but the entire squad.

Justin Brownlee showed the way with 29 points, but the Filipinos got contributions from up and down the lineup as they crushed Mono Vampire by 27 points, 114-87, right in front of their fans inside the Stadium 29 in Bangkok on Sunday.

The visiting squad was coming off an upset at the hands of Singapore just four days ago.

They had for themselves a mighty rebound in this one with a wire-to-wire win that hikes their record to 4-4 – good for fifth in the standings.

The contest was close for the first two minutes until Alab uncorked an 11-4 burst that ballooned their lead to 20-9 late in the first quarter.

They would not look back from there and owned an advantage of as much as 33 in the final frame.
