Rain Or Shine survives gritty TNT to take first win

Beau Belga came off the bench to score a team-high 14 points, and Rain Or Shine took advantage of a poor shooting night by TNT to win 82-79 in the PBA Philippine Cup at Cuneta Astrodome on Friday.

Rain Or Shine broke a 68-all deadlock in the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run, anchored on back-to-back triples by Ed Daquioag and Belga, to go up 76-68.

TNT threatened at the 25-second mark when Kelly Williams drilled a triple to make it 82-79. He wasn't as fortunate in the game's final play, though, when he missed the potential game-tying 3-pointer.

Chris Tiu chipped in 12 points with a pair of 3-pointers, one of 4 Rain Or Shine players (including Belga) to make at least 2 from downtown.

Raymond Almazan posted 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks for the Elasto Painters.

"We turned the ball over too much and the offensive boards we gave to Talk N Text. We can't win a lot of games if we continue to play this way," Rain Or Shine coach Caloy Garcia said.
