With NCAA championship in the bag, San Beda's Bolick prepares to celebrate

MANILA, Philippines – Even as his team was just 50 seconds away from winning the NCAA Season 93 championship, San Beda College coach Boyet Fernandez stayed on brand.

Robert Bolick had just knocked down an absolutely cold-blooded three-pointer to give the Red Lions an 89-82 left over Lyceum of the Philippines University, then proceeded to point to his front arm to mimic D'Angelo Russell's "ice in his veins" celebration. Not satisfied with that, he channeled his inner LeBron James, celebrating the way the King does after a big shot

His coach, of course, would have none of it. After all, there were still 50 seconds left to play, and against Lyceum, a seven-point lead is nothing. Fernandez walked all the way across the court, wagged his finger at Bolick, and led him back to the bench to map up their next defensive possession.

This is reminiscent of how Fernandez also told Bolick to calm down after the guard knocked down a huge three-pointer in Game 1 – a 94-87 victory for the Red Lions. At the time, Fernandez told his players that the series was not yet over.

Thanks to Bolick, the Red Lions ended the series in two games. Bolick's triple was the dagger that iced San Beda's 92-82 win in Game 2, giving them their second straight title.
