Tyang Aby: ‘Sobrang proud ako na girlfriend ako ni Bolick’

MANILA, Philippines—Abigail Maraño was beaming with pride after F2 Logistics' victory over Generika-Ayala in the Philippine Superliga (PSL) Grand Prix on Thursday, but it was not only because her team won its fourth game in a row in the tournament.

Maraño was also delighted to hear the news that the San Beda Red Lions beat the Lyceum Pirates, 92-82, in Game 2 of the NCAA Season 93 finals.

"Kinakabahan nga ako kanina kasi gusto ko talaga panoorin. Nagtatanong-tanong ako kanina tapos may random guy na lumipat sa akin ta's binalita na champion na nga daw," said Tyang Aby.

"Parang nawala 'yung kaba ko, naging mas light 'yung feeling ko noong game."

Maraño had every reason to be nervous, as her boyfriend, Robert Bolick, was leading the Red Lions in their charge. But Bolick did not let her down: the San Beda guard had 18 points, five rebounds and six assists, and scored nine points in the final quarter – including the triple that served as the dagger.

For Maraño, Bolick's performance was a source of immense pride, especially as she had seen firsthand how hard he worked.
