Parker hurting, but proud of rookie season with FEU

MANILA, Philippines – In a season-ending loss, Far Eastern University's (FEU) Jasper Parker became a full-fledged star.

Parker, a transferee from Southwestern University, has steadily improved over the course of the second round of UAAP Season 80. However, it was in their final game of the tournament, in a heartbreaking defeat to Ateneo de Manila University, that he showed that he can take control of and even win a game for FEU.

Matched up against a sturdy defender in Matt Nieto, Parker exploded for a game-high 19 points, shooting a wildly efficient 7-of-10 from the field while also making five of his eight charities. He also had four rebounds, two assists, and two steals, while committing only one turnover.

The 23-year-old point guard very nearly won the game for FEU, too. He blew past Nieto and elevated for the lay-up that made it 73-72 with under 30 seconds left, and later added two more charities for a 75-72 lead.

Unfortunately for Parker and FEU, Isaac Go happened. The big man's three-pointer sent the game to overtime, and the Blue Eagles went on to hack out an 88-84 win to claim the last Finals berth of Season 80.
