Jerwin Ancajas ready to give chase should Irish challenger ‘run’

Irish world-title challenger Jamie Conlan has made a name for himself as a lion-hearted, “in-your-face” brawler.

But the camp of world junior-bantamweight champion Jerwin Ancajas is making sure his camp will be prepared for every tactic Conlan might use in their November 18 title fight.

This includes a scenario in which the slugger becomes a sprinter.

“Unang-una naghahanda kami sa brawling style ni Conlan,” said Ancajas’ coach Joven Jimenez, who also took into account the fact that they will battle Conlan at his turf in Belfast, Ireland.

“Baka kasi biglang mag-iba ang taktika niya kasi nasa hometown siya. Baka biglang tumakbo at magpaabot lang ng 12 rounds, hindi niya kailangang sumugal.”

This is why Jimenez worked on Ancajas’ conditioning in the event that he needs to give chase.
