Record-setting Pasaol is UAAP Player of the Week

MANILA, Philippines – Thanks to his stunning scoring exploits for University of the East (UE), Alvin Pasaol has been named the UAAP's Player of the Week.

Pasaol rewrote the UAAP's record books last Wednesday when he fired 49 points on 20-of-30 shooting in a 100-106 loss to defending champion De La Salle University.

For Pasaol, who hit the scoring mark while playing on an injured ankle, he was simply doing what he was told to do by coach Derrick Pumaren.

Pasaol, who hails from Davao, is the first Filipino to breach the 40-point mark since 2002, when Jeff Napa – now Colegio de San Juan de Letran's coach – torched Adamson University for 43 points while playing for National University.
