At 0-6, UST looking for first win vs. UE

MANILA, Philippines – University of Santo Tomas (UST) suffered its most lopsided loss of Season 80 on Saturday, after the Growling Tigers were dismantled by defending champion De La Salle University, 115-86, behind another dominant game from reigning MVP Ben Mbala.

The 29-point rout dropped UST to 0-6 in the men's basketball tournament, and marked the first time that the Growling Tigers were thoroughly dominated this season.

Opposing coaches have regularly warned that UST's winless record was "deceptive," and indeed, the Tigers have managed to stay competitive in nearly all of their games outside of their loss to the Green Archers.

Thus, the Growling Tigers themselves were disappointed to have played so poorly against La Salle.

"Hindi rin namin in-expect na ganoon ang mangyayari," said Marvin Lee. "(Pero) nangyayari talaga sa game."
