South African challenger unfazed by Milan Melindo, hostile fight venue

Hekkie Budler's camp is confident the South African challenger has the right tools to pull off an upset against reigning world junior-flyweight king Milan Melindo in Cebu on Saturday.

“We’re going there to win, end of the story,” coach Colin Nathan said in an article posted on BoxingScene.com.

“We see a fighter (Melindo) who is very strong, very proud and won’t give up his championship easily. But he can be beaten and Hekkie is the guy to do it.”

While not revealing details, Nathan said Budler will appear in the main event of "Pinoy Pride 42" with a strategy that'll hand Melindo's first loss at home.

“We have a solid game plan, or two or three. Melindo hits harder than his record suggests, but Hekkie is fit, strong and willing. Nothing scares him,” Nathan said.
