San Beda's Fernandez, Doliguez and Bolick suspended; CSB's Young also banned

MANILA, Philippines – The NCAA on Wednesday meted out punishments to the players involved in the brief scuffle towards the final minutes of San Beda College's 72-58 victory over De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB), including MVP candidate Robert Bolick.

San Beda guard Bolick, along with teammate Clint Doliguez and head coach Boyet Fernandez, will be suspended for one game following their roles in the fracas and its aftermath.

Also suspended was CSBs Carlo Young, whose hard foul on Bolick with 2:28 left to play triggered the entire episode.

"There were infractions that commissioner Bai (Cristobal) gave that suspended the three players and also coach Boyet (Fernandez)," said NCAA Management Committee chairman Fr. Glyn Ortega, OAR, on Wednesday.

Bolick was suspended after he was alleged to have thrown an elbow on Young, who pulled him down during a fastbreak play.
