Romeo fined after flagrant foul, Racela also penalized

MANILA, Philippines – GlobalPort star Terrence Romeo and TNT coach Nash Racela have both been fined significant amounts following their infractions in separate games during the on-going PBA Governors' Cup, the league announced on Wednesday.

Romeo was docked P20,000 following his flagrant foul penalty 2 in GlobalPort's game against Blackwater last Sunday, which led to his ejection with five minutes left in the second quarter.

The high-scoring guard was called for the foul after he threw the ball at Blackwater import Henry Walker, and was summarily thrown out of the game. Blackwater went on to win 118-107, clinching a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Racela was fined a total of P17,000 for three different infractions. He was fined P10,000 for "issuing statements detrimental to the league;" P5,000 for "incessantly pointing an accusing finger at an official;" and another P2,000 for a technical foul because he entered the court during their game against Star last Sunday.

TNT defeated Star, 104-99, on Sunday, but Racela was bemused by the officiating and said so after the game.
