Golovkin coach is worried about one thing ahead of Canelo bout

Outspoken boxing trainer Abel Sanchez doesn’t believe Saul “Canelo” Alvarez can seriously hurt the undefeated Gennady Golovkin once they trade shots inside the ring this weekend.

Alvarez will try to wrest the WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and Ring magazine middleweight titles from “Triple G” at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday.

“I don’t think Canelo has the punching power that Gennady does,” Sanchez said in a report posted on BoxingScene.com.

Sanchez cited Alvarez's past fights wherein he failed to finish off his foes.

“He hit (Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.) with everything but the stool and actually ran out of gas trying to do that, trying to knock him out. And that was a depleted, 164-pound Chavez,” the coach said.

The same thing happened when Alvarez clashed with Miguel Cotto.
