GlobalPort rides hot 2nd quarter to hold off TNT

Stanley Pringle scored 13 of his 30 points in a strong second quarter by GlobalPort, as the Batang Pier edged TNT 119-112 in the PBA Governors' Cup at Ynares Center in Antipolo on Friday.

After falling by 10 early, GlobalPort found its groove in the second, outscoring TNT 39-23, then kept the KaTropa at bay the rest of the way to raise its record to 3-3.

TNT fell to 4-3.

"I guess it was an advantage that Talk N Text just played last Wednesday," GlobalPort coach Franz Pumaren said.

"It gave us the opportunity to really start off. We really prepared very well for this game, offensively and defensively."

Murphey Holloway had brilliant numbers across the board for GlobalPort, tallying a double-double (24 points, 17 rebounds) to go with 6 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks.
