Revenge against Pocari not even on Gorayeb's mind

MANILA, Philippines – Revenge was the furthest thing on Roger Gorayeb's mind after he helped the BaliPure Water Defenders dethrone the Pocari Sweat Lady Warriors in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

Just two short months ago, the Water Defenders' hearts were broken by the Lady Warriors in the finals of the Reinforced Conference, which Pocari won in three tight games.

They got back at their tormentors on Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre, holding on for a four-set win in Game 2 that gave them their maiden championship in the PVL after joining the league last season.

"I do not look at this as Pocari, na bumawi ako (sa kanila)," Gorayeb told reporters after the game, a 25-20, 19-25, 25-23, 26-24 win for his Water Defenders.

"This is the championship," he stressed. "So regardless kung sino man 'yan, lalaro kami ng mahusay talaga."

"Hindi ko iniisip, 'yun kasi hindi naman tama 'yun na, 'Gaganti ako sa inyo.' It's not a good attitude," he added.
