Marciano's son: Floyd doesn't deserve to break boxing record

The son of the late great Rocky Marciano doesn't believe Floyd Mayweather Jr. deserves to get a 50-0 record if he wins against neophyte boxer Conor McGregor this weekend.

Mayweather is currently tied with Marciano with 49 wins and no losses and a victory over McGregor will help him break the longstanding record.

But Rocky Marciano Jr. said Mayweather’s junior middleweight bout with an untested McGregor should only be considered an exhibition match. Therefore, a win by Mayweather shouldn’t count.

“No matter what happens, I don’t think it should go towards Mayweather’s professional career (record), win or lose," Marciano told Boxing Scene. “This fight to me isn’t a true boxing match." (LINK ON BOXING SCENE )

“It’s not a fight that I’m interested in. I see the interest in it, but I don’t think it’ll be an interesting fight."
