Letran racks up 4th straight win, turns back San Sebastian in OT

MANILA, Philippines – In one of the best games of the NCAA Season 93 tournament so far, Colegio de San Juan de Letran leaned on a huge game from Rey Nambatac and clutch plays from JP Calvo to turn back San Sebastian College, 79-75, in overtime.

The victory on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre was Letran's fourth straight, hiking their record to 5-3 after opening their campaign with a subpar 1-3 slate.

The Golden Stags, meanwhile, could not build on their huge win over De La Salle-College of St. Benilde the last time out, and instead dropped to 3-4 in the tournament.

Nambatac scattered 23 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, while adding three assists in nearly 39 minutes of playing time. Calvo, meanwhile, scored four of his 12 points in the extra period, while also securing a crucial steal that doomed the Stags.

"All credit ulit sa mga boys," said Letran coach Jeff Napa. "'Yung character, doon lumabas."
