Jeron nets another triple-double as Flying V completes sweep

MANILA, Philippines – Jeron Teng racked up his third consecutive triple-double to power Flying V to a 116-101 victory over Batangas in the 2017 PBA D-League Foundation Cup on Tuesday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

In the process, the Thunder completed a sweep of the elimination round, joining NLEX and Cagayan Valley as the only teams to achieve such a feat.

Teng fired 24 points and added 11 rebounds and 10 assists, becoming the player with most triple-doubles in the history of the D-League.

Coach Eric Altamirano, however, is not dwelling too much on the Thunder's feat, instead stressing that his players must stay grounded and keep their eyes on the ultimate prize.

"We're happy that we were able to get it done, but I'll be happier if we win it all the way," said Altairano.

"As much as we want to win a championship, we can't look beyond that yet. Our focus right now is the playoffs, and we still have to hurdle the semis," he added.
