Eze's monster double-double powers Perpetual past Arellano

MANILA, Philippines – Prince Eze submitted his best game of the season to power the University of Perpetual Help Altas past the slumping Arellano University Chiefs, 68-59, for their third victory in the NCAA Season 93 men's basketball tournament on Tuesday at the FilOil Flying V Centre.

The Nigerian Eze had 21 points, 23 rebounds and five blocks, while also scoring a crucial lay-up with 36.3 seconds left that essentially sealed the victory for the Altas.

Perpetual Help snapped a two-game skid to improve to 3-4, while also handing the Chiefs their fourth loss in a row. Arellano, last season's losing finalists, now has a 2-5 win-loss record.

GJ Ylagan had 11 points, while Gab Dagangon added 10 markers for the Altas.

"Talagang gusto naming manalo," said Perpetual Help coach Jimwell Gican. "Siyempre, dalawang sunod na talo, mahirap na. Kailangan ipanalo ang game na ito, para naman makabawi kami at mawala ang sakit."
