EAC center Laminou suffers ACL injury, out for the season

MANILA, Philippines – Emilio Aguinaldo College's (EAC) campaign in the NCAA Season 93 tournament suffered a blow after center Hamidou Laminou was diagnosed with a torn ACL in his right knee.

Laminou suffered the injury on Tuesday, after landing on the foot of an Arellano University player during the Generals' game against the Chiefs. The Cameroonian big man had to be helped back to the locker room and did not return to the game.

On Thursday, EAC coach Ariel Sison confirmed to ABS-CBN News that his center suffered a torn ACL and is out for the rest of the season.

It is a massive blow for EAC, which is eyeing a breakthrough Final 4 appearance in Season 93. Laminou is averaging 10.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks per game for the Generals, having formed a potent frontcourt combination with Sidney Onwubere.
