Wimbledon: Top 16 seeds' histories

LONDON, Great Britain - The year's third Grand Slam will get underway at the All-England Club on Monday, and when the fortnight concludes, a host of women in this year's top 16 seeds have the chance to leave London as the world's No.1 player.

Last year's runner-up Angelique Kerber leads the pack as she will look to hold on her top spot in the world rankings, followed by French Open runner-up Simona Halep, Eastbourne champion Karolina Pliskova, Elina Svitolina and Caroline Wozniacki.

Five-time champion Venus Williams is the No.10 seed on the lawns of London this fortnight - read on to learn how the rest have done at the All-England Club.
Also looming in the top 16 are the lone Wimbledon champions in the field - Venus Williams and Petra Kvitova - and each will look to add another Venus Rosewater Dish to her trophy cabinet at the end of the fortnight.
