Pinoy Pride 41: Albert Pagara continues on road to redemption vs Thai fighter

Albert Pagara’s fight on Saturday will serve as a gauge to see whether he has regained his explosive ways nearly a year after the brutal stoppage loss he suffered against Cesar Juarez in California.

Pagara, 23, will take on Aekkawee Kaewmanee of Thailand in the main card of "Pinoy Pride 41" in Cebu.

Albert Pagara.
“Pagara, iyong career niya right now is medyo intriguing to a lot of boxing pundits,” boxing analyst Dennis Principe said. “Kasi nga he was that close to becoming a world title contender until nakalaban niya si Cesar Juarez.”

Pagara suffered his first career loss on July 9, 2016, when he fell to Juarez in 8 rounds.

The Southern Leyte-born fighter, who now holds a record of 27-1, fought back to recover from that loss and hammered out a decision win over Ghana’s Raymond Commey last November, “a good rebound fight,” Principe says.

“This time against a Thai fighter, this will test kung nakabalik na siya sa explosive fighting self niya.”
