Mayweather shares his theory behind Pacquiao's decline

Floyd Mayweather Jr. says he knows the reason why Manny Pacquiao has been giving out "lackluster" performance as of late.

Early this month, Pacquiao lost via unanimous decision to Jeff Horn in a bout where he showed his age. On top of that, he hasn't scored a knockout victory since stopping Puerto Rican star Miguel Cotto in 2009.

Mayweather, who will take on mixed martial arts star Conor McGregor in a showdown next month, said Pacquiao lost his potency when certain people left his team.

"I never said he took anything," Mayweather said in a video uploaded by Fight Hype on YouTube, referring to performance enhancers.

"But all I'm saying is this: When certain pieces from Manny Pacquiao's team left, he was no longer fighting the same."

Mayweather alluded to Pacquiao's conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, who parted ways with the Filipino world champion in 2012.
