Jeron notches triple-double as Flying V improves to 8-0

MANILA, Philippines – Leading MVP candidate Jeron Teng shook off his early shooting woes and registered a rare triple-double to power Flying V to a 114-91 victory over AMA Online Education on Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.

With the win, Flying V improved to 8-0 while also securing the top seed in the conference.

Teng fired blanks early and opted to focus on other facets of the game, before eventually finding his touch en route to a 21-point, 13-assist, 11-rebound performance.

"Jeron has nothing to prove when it comes to his scoring, but the good thing is he's showing that he's a multi-dimensional player. Parang Lonzo Ball ba," said Flying V coach Eric Altamirano of his star player.

The 23-year-old former De La Salle University star is only the fourth player in the history of the D-League to register a triple-double. The other players to do so were BDO-NU's Ray Parks, Phoenix's Mike Tolomia (who pulled off the feat twice), and Racal Motors' Kent Salado.

Eric Salamat led the scoring parade for Flying V with 33 points on 7-of-11 shooting from beyond the arc, while also notching five steals.
