Garcia ‘confused’ with Governors Cup schedule

The Rain or Shine Elasto Painters had the most players lent to Gilas Pilipinas in Gabe Norwood, Raymond Almazan and Mike Tolomia. But if the released 2017 PBA Governor’s Cup is to be followed, they will also be the most affected team with the absence of these players.

The three players will be out for the Elasto Painters from August 8-20. Gabe Norwood and Raymond Almazan will be suiting up for the FIBA Asia 2017 tourney while rookie point guard Mike Tolomia will head to Kuala Lumpur for the SEA Games.

All will miss at least three games during that span, a bit unfair considering other teams will lose some of their players for a game or two. There are even some who will not miss their Gilas reps at all.

“Dilemma ko nga is that we have four games that we are going to be missing them,” said Rain or Shine Coach Caloy Garcia.

“Naguguluhan lang ako kasi we have two or three players na mawawala pero we have games. Ibang teams, isang player lang mawawala pero walang games,” he added.

After splitting their first two games, the Elasto Painters return to action on Saturday. They will face the Meralco Bolts in Antipolo City.
