Alyssa plans to attend 'whole duration' of Japan training

MANILA, Philippines – Creamline skipper Alyssa Valdez defused rumors that she will not complete the Philippine women's national team's upcoming training camp in Japan due to commitments with her club team.

Unfounded rumors circulating on social media on Sunday morning alleged that Valdez, a member of the national team that will compete in the Southeast Asian Games, will not fully attend the Japan training camp scheduled for July 17 to August 2.

However, Valdez made it clear on Sunday that her intent is to be with the national team for the entirety of the camp.

"That's the plan naman, to train with the team for the whole duration of the national team training," Valdez said after leading Creamline to a four-set win over Philippine Air Force in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference.

"And then, when we get back here, we have ilang days lang tapos may tournament na nga kami," she added, referring to the AVC Women's Senior Championships on August 9-17.

"That's the original plan, and I think we're going to stick with it naman," Valdez reiterated.
