All is well with Semerad twins

There were plenty of sidelights to the recently concluded 2017 PBA Commissioners Cup Finals. One of them included seeing the first twins to play against each – Anthony Semerad of TnT KaTropa and David Semerad of San Miguel Beer.

Though both saw limited action, Anthony and David grabbed a piece of the spotlight in game 6. During a jump ball, Anthony accidentally collided with his brother David, injuring the latter’s nose in the process.

“We were going at it, going hard and then at the jump ball, we did a jump and I went to sprint. He likes to stick to me like glue and I guess he was so close to me when I run and accidentally hit his nose. I’m lucky, I didn’t even know I hit him,” Anthony recalls.

In that incident, David Semerad’s SMB teammates pushed Anthony away in what they deemed as an unsportsmanlike play. Apparently, Anthony just wanted to check on David.

It was a rare moment that saw the Semerad Twins face each other. Both played together for San Beda and brought multiple championships to the San Beda Red Lion’s den.

In the fourth quarter of game 6, Anthony and David were seen talking as SMB was on the verge of being crowned the 2017 PBA Commissioners Cup Champions.
