TNT's Jayson Castro sees need for adjustments after 10-turnover game

MANILA, Philippines – TNT's star guard Jayson Castro owned up to poor decision-making after he committed a whopping 10 turnovers in the KaTropa's 97-109 loss to San Miguel Beer in Game 3 of the 2017 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals on Sunday.

Castro averaged 14 points, 7 assists, and 3.5 turnovers per game in the first two games of the series, which the two teams split.

In the all-important Game 3, however, "The Blur" found himself shackled by the SMB defense. He repeatedly ran into double-teams after coming off screens, and his passes were often picked off by the San Miguel guards.

Even the little-used Brian Heruela was effective against Castro, funneling the TNT guard into SMB's big men inside the paint. Heruela even registered a highlight-reel block of Castro to end the first half.

"Maganda 'yung depensa nila on our ball screen, and at the same time, 'yun nga, we made a lot of turnovers, especially me," said Castro, who scored 11 of his 17 points in the fourth period, but for the most part was ineffective.

"Siguro 'yung game na 'yun, sobrang sama ng mga decision-making ko," he admitted. "Every time na ako 'yung may hawak ng bola or ako 'yung gumagamit ng ball screen, naka-focus silang lahat sa akin"
