Pacquiao favors Floyd against McGregor

Add Manny Pacquiao to those who believe that Floyd Mayweather Jr. will steamroll Conor McGregor in their boxing match on August 26.

Mayweather will come out of retirement after nearly two years to face McGregor, in what will be the Irish fighter's first-ever boxing match. Analysts overwhelmingly favor the 40-year-old Mayweather, who retired back in 2015 with an immaculate 49-0 record.

Floyd Mayweather; Conor McGregor.
His 48th victory came against Pacquiao in their long-awaited, but ultimately disappointing "super fight" in May 2015.

Pacquiao, who will return to action on July 2 against Jeff Horn, still cannot escape questions about Mayweather, and he makes it clear that he favors his former rival against the brash MMA star.

"I can say Floyd Mayweather will win, because the fight is in boxing, not an MMA fight," said Pacquiao, as quoted by Boxing Scene. "That's an advantage with Floyd."

"I don't think McGregor is compatible with boxing, pure boxing," he added.
